What is Tether?

Yes — Tether is free to start, with Premium when you want more. Premium starts with a free trial and adds ongoing Smart Import, AI-drafted photo books, the back-cover code and a member discount on printing.
How is Tether different from Google Photos or Apple Photos?
Google Photos and Apple Photos keep every picture you take; Tether keeps the moments worth remembering, and the people they belong to. Our Smart Import feature skips the junk, voice notes and stories sit beside your photos, sharing is invite-only rather than a feed — and when you want to, Premium prints it all as a book that opens back up on your phone.

What is Smart Import?
Smart Import is the Tether feature that finds your best moments in the photos already on your phone and skips the junk — screenshots, receipts, blurry retakes. It shows you a short review first, so nothing lands in your library without your say-so.
Does Tether use my photos to train AI?
No. Tether does not train AI models on your photos, recordings or writing; our AI features send only what they need to our provider, who may not use it for their own purposes, and you can switch off Smart Photo Analysis and face recognition in Settings at any time.
How do I delete my Tether account and data?
In the app, go to Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Delete Account — or, without the app, email privacy@mytether.co from the address on your account, as explained at https://mytether.co/delete-account/. You have 30 days to change your mind; then your account, photos, files, face data and subscription are gone for good.
Does Tether work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. Tether runs on iPhone and Android, and a tether can mix both — everyone sees the same shared space whichever phone they carry.
